Hello
A Bit About Me
Heng Ying Xuan (b. 2002) is a multidisciplinary artist exploring natural landscapes' emotional and psychological impact through painting, collage, sculpture, and metal engraving. Her work embraces openness and perception, inviting shifting interpretations rather than fixed meanings.
While natural landscapes remain her primary focus, she enjoys experimenting with materials, exploring clay and ice sculptures alongside her primary practice.
Her works have been showcased locally in Singapore Art Week 2024, NAFA Open House 2024, and internationally at New York's HMVC Gallery’s "Connections" Exhibition, and a public display in New York's Times Square.
In my artistic practice, I explore the intersection of memory, identity, and natural landscapes. I aim to unravel the emotional and psychological connections between humans and these landscapes by questioning what draws us to nature and how these nuances can transcend traditional landscape art.
Through sculpting and painting, I transform emotional, mental, and spiritual landscapes into visual and tactile experiences. My work emphasizes openness and embodiment, allowing meaning to shift with perception. Ultimately, my journey is about articulating the complex interplay between memory, emotion, and the natural landscapes that silently witness them.
